Emerging Indian fast bowler Umran Malik has caught everyone’s attention with his speed, aggression and innate talent in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). This time, former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee was impressed by Umran’s speed; Umran Malik Reminds Me of Waqar Younis, Says Brett Lee.

The 23-year-old made headlines for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the recently concluded IPL. In this year’s event, Umran surprised everyone by bowling at a speed of 156 kilometres per hour. Which is the second-fastest delivery of the tournament.

He did not just raise the storm of speed in the discussion. The youngster from Jammu and Kashmir also picked up 22 valuable wickets at an average of 20.18. All in all, Lee is fascinated by this Indian fast bowler.

“I am a big fan of Umran,” Lee told ANI. He has a lot of speed. His bowling style is similar to that of many fast bowlers in the past. He comes running like them. When I see him, I think of Walker Younis. ‘

Lee also suggested Umran Malik. “There’s something in his runup that he can use through the wrist,” he said. It will improve his action. But one thing is, the action of any bowler will not be at all like.

‘My action was never perfect but I always tried to be the best for myself. So before retiring I was able to ball in my action till the last ball. So anyone can improve every day if they want. – Aussie adds legend.

Not only Brett Lee, but also former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan found a match between Walker Younis and Umran’s bowling. “The first time I saw him bowling, I remembered Walker Younis,” said Irfan.

It will be seen in the future how much Umran can bring so much praise around. Umran has been named in the Indian squad for five Twenty20 matches at home against South Africa. It remains to be seen how he will do in the international arena.
