Rohit Sharma Fined 12 Lakh For Slow Over Rate in IPL 2021

Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma played a big blow after the loss to Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021. Rohit Sharma was fined and had to pay a fine of Rs 12 lakh due to the slow-over rate. Mumbai captain Rohit has had to pay a hefty fine for failing to complete the match within the stipulated time frame set by the IPL Governing Council.

In the statement, the IPL governing committee said Mumbai had bowled at a slow over-rate against the Delhi Capitals. For which captain Rohit Sharma has been fined.

If the same mistake is made for the second time, then Rohit will have to pay double the fine as per IPL’s ‘Code of Contact’. The rest of the team will also have to pay a fine of 25 percent of the match fee.

If the same allegation is made against Rohit for the third time, he will have to pay Rs 3 million, including a one-match ban. The rest of the team will have to pay a fine of 12 lakh rupees or 50 percent of the match fee.

Incidentally, Delhi climbed to the top two of the points table by defeating Mumbai by 6 wickets in a low-scoring match on Tuesday. Batting first at the M Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai’s Chipoke, Mumbai could only manage 138 for nine at the end of the allotted 20 overs. Batting in reply, Delhi lost 4 wickets with 5 balls left in the innings and reached the port of victory.
