Pakistani Cricketers are Angry over New Zealand Decision

Cricket New Zealand canceled the Pakistan series due to security risks just before the start of the match. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan personally spoke to the New Zealand Prime Minister but did not get the green light for the visit. Current and former Pakistani cricketers are angry over New Zealand’s decision. Babar and Afridi, the PCB president, expressed their displeasure in Twitter messages. Cricketers from other countries have also been criticized.

The three-match ODI series was to start from today. However, there was a fear that the two teams would not come on the field within the allotted time for the toss. Despite the passage of time, the two teams were staying at the hotel. In a press release at 3:30 pm Bangladesh time, New Zealand Cricket said that not only this ODI but the entire tour has been abandoned.

New Zealand Cricket decided to cancel the tour after receiving a security alert from the New Zealand government. The New Zealand government advised NZC Security after the threat level in Pakistan increased. On the basis of which the Blackcaps refused to continue this tour. At the moment, preparations are underway to bring the New Zealand team back to the country.

Pakistan cricketers are furious. On social media, PCB president Ramiz Raja, captain Babar Azam, and Shahid Afridi responded on Twitter.
