KL Rahul Scored Century in his 100th IPL Match
Today, Lucknow captain KL Rahul scored the third century of his career in the IPL, also he played the 100th match of his IPL career against Mumbai Indians. KL Rahul batsman touched another new milestone, he played as an opener till the last ball of the innings. He hit three fours and scored his third century off 56 balls. In the end, he was unbeaten on 103 runs.
Earlier, the opener of the Indian national team also scored a century in Kings Punjab’s jersey. This time, Rahul saw the third century of his career against Rohit Sharma and Jaspreet Bumrah. Lucknow lost the toss and elected to bat. The newcomer to the IPL has scored 199 runs in Rahul’s century.
Rahul got off to a great start with Quinton de Kock batting first. The opening pair of 52 runs was broken by the farewell of Proteas opener De Kock. He was bowled out for 24 off 13 balls against former team Mumbai by debutant Fabian Allen. Then Rahul formed a partnership with Manish Pandey. Lucknow was under some pressure when Pandey left for a personal 37 runs. Marcos Stein also returned quickly. However, Rahul kept the run wheel in motion by keeping one end in front.
In the end, Rahul was unbeaten on 103 off 60 balls. He had 9 fours and 5 sixes in his innings. De Kock returned with an innings of 24 off 13 balls. He made 1 six and 4 fours in these innings. Pandey had six fours in his 37-run innings off 29 balls.
