It will be disappointing if foreign players do not return to KKR, Says Brendon McCullum
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to host the rest of the IPL 2021 in the UAE in September-October. However, the franchises will not get more than one-star foreign cricketers in the new schedule. KKR head coach Brendon McCullum said it will be disappointing for the KKR team if the foreign players do not return to the team for the remaining IPL 2021 matches.
IPL teams will not get a number of foreign cricketers mainly due to the busy schedule in international cricket. Although they could not be found, BCCI co-president Rajib Shukla is quite optimistic about organizing the rest of the tournament.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh team has an international series in September-October. Naturally, Tiger all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will not get leave during the international series. BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon has already given that indication. As a result, Kolkata Knight Riders, who are playing in this year’s IPL, will be in trouble. Not only Shakib but also star pacers like Pat Cummins may not get the franchise.
If for some reason Shakib-Cummins do not play in the rest of the IPL, then Kolkata Knight Riders captain Brendon McCullum said that these foreign cricketers will be disappointed if they do not play.
“If we don’t get some cricketers, it will be a real disappointment for us,” he said in a recent interview. Structurally we rely on some cricketers. We chose to see good quality cricketers. I know that if we are under pressure, they will be ready to stay with us for a long time and they will be calm even in difficult times. ‘
