IPL 2021 Suspension Will Help India To Prepare for WTC Final, Says Ross Taylor
The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) has been postponed midway due to the coronavirus infection of cricketers and staff. However, Ross Taylor, an experienced New Zealand batsman, feels that the suspension of the IPL 2021 will help India to prepare for the World Test Championship Final 2021.
Taylor said that due to the postponement of the IPL, India got a lot of time before the final match of the World Test Championship. This will allow Kohli to adapt to the conditions in England.
India will face New Zealand in the final of the World Test Championship on June 17 in Southampton. New Zealand will play a two-match Test series against England before that final. The test series will start from June 2.
New Zealand will play the final of the Test Championship right after the series against England. “After the two-match Test series, we have to play the final,” Taylor said. The matter is very good for us. It was a great opportunity to immerse ourselves before the final. So if you play two Tests before the final, that experience will be useful.
Like New Zealand, Taylor sees India’s advantages. “It is unfortunate that the IPL has been postponed, but it is helping India more,” he said. If the IPL was over, they would have less time. But now they will have plenty of time to prepare themselves. The players will be very fresh and will go down to play the final.
