IPL 2021: AB De Villiers is a “Good Wicketkeeper option” this season, says RCB Cricket Manager Mike Hesson

IPL 2021: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) cricket manager Mike Hesson said ab de Villiers will be a good wicketkeeper option this season if xi’s balance of the game is fixed.

Mike Hesson, director of cricket at Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), has stated that AB de Villiers will once again be a Wicketkeeper option for the Team in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL). RCB is scheduled to play the first game of the IPL 2021 Streaming TV Channel against the Indians in Mumbai on April 9 in Chennai.

AB de Villiers wore wicket keeper gloves in some games last year and is expected to do the same this year if he fixes XI’s balance in play,” Hesson said in a video posted to the official RCB user on Twitter.

“We were happy because AB de Villiers loved to keep the securities and embrace them. He wanted to keep it going, it’s a real choice.

“Now we have two other options to save the wicket, which is great. Mohammed Azharuddin is a natural athlete wearing gloves and on the field. We also have KS Bharat. He is a natural wicketkeeper (and) also offers us different options.

“We’re not going to give up with you now on who’s going to do what. We are really satisfied with our options and AB is definitely one of those options.”

RCB training camp will begin on March 29 for the next version of the IPL. Hesson had previously said that AB de Villiers would arrive on March 28.

“We have players who arrive until April 1st. Finn Allen will play at T20I in New Zealand on April 1 and then he will come the next day… ABD arrives on the 28th.”

“It’s completely different from last year, where we brought everyone together for a long period of time at the back of a period when the players didn’t train or play.”

“So it’s different this time, we have players playing international cricket here and in domestic and foreign cricket until a few days ago. So we had to prepare in a little different way.”

The final match of the 14th edition of the tournament will be held on May 30th at Narendra Modi Stadium. The qualifiers will also be held at the same location.
