ECB Appoints Matthew Mott as England’s New ODI Coach 2022
Brendon McCullum will be the head coach of the England team with the red ball. White will be the head coach of the English, there were rumours about that. ECB appoints Matthew Mott as England’s New ODI coach in 2022, putting an end to all rumours.
In 2015, Matthew Mott became the head coach of the Australian women’s team. Australian women were irresistible under him. This time Matthew Mott is leaving that responsibility and taking on a new challenge. Now he will be coaching England boys in limited-overs.
Matthew Mott will be the head coach of the England boys for four years. Earlier, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) signed a four-year deal with Brendon McCullum.
England lost the series 4-0 against them on Australian soil in January this year. Coach Chris Silverwood was fired after that. He was replaced by Paul Collingwood as interim coach. The idea was that the responsibility for the limited over of the English could fall on his shoulders. In the end, the ECB relied on Matthew Mott.
He also played for the Australian state team New South Wales. He has experience working with county team Glamorgan and IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders. He has experience working as a consultant for the Irish national team in boys cricket.
England cricket has undergone major changes since the Ashes. Ashley Giles has stepped down as ECB’s cricket director. He has been replaced by Rob Key. This time the country also brought a change in the coaching panel.
